What was the significance of Nessa's 'white room'?

It's a 'safe room' or 'panic room' as you've probably gathered. All us high profile figures, at risk from all sorts of attack sleep there routinely. I use mine every night, ever since declaring that Lance Armstrong is the greatest cyclist that ever lived.

A friend of ours who watched it couldn't understand why she slept in the bathroom every night.

My sister thought it was her replication chamber and that there was more than one Nessa.

It was to replicate how she felt when locked up during her captivity in Gaza.

I considered that, but why so white and clinical, do you think?
