These don't. I have must be ten ribbed pairs in many colourful designs. I pay £10 a pair for them. They are so comfy, wash well and are very breathable. The only slight downside is they take over a day to dry after washing, due to the quality thickness of them.

I usually get most of my socks from the Paul Smith shop at the York designer outlet. They occasionally have cycling socks as well.

Where do bamboos live? Would they thrive in the UK, and get on with my goats and alpacas?

You don't want them in the UK, they destroy driveways and houses !

Did I mention we have a field of Alpacas at the back of the house. They seem very friendly as they came across to see us when we were taking young Bertie for his walk on the path by the field.
They didn’t offer us any socks though.

Don’t all men wear silk against the skin?

I bought a pair of silk socks once. They were in a sale, costing If I remember rightly about £15. They were very 'none breathable' and wore out in a few weeks of wearing. I hand washed them, gently of couse but they were crap!!🫤

Sounds like they were fake

No, they were from a reputable online seller, not Cordings but on a par with Cordings. I bought some Dents gloves quite a few years ago. They were made from a very soft leather, with a silk lining costing £130. The silk lining was in holes after a few months and came out with my hands as I took them out. I emailed Dents asking for a refund. They replied saying if I send them in they'd put a new silk lining in for £50. Needless to say I didn't bother and haven't bought any silk lined gloves since. Especially Dents ones!!

I've got one. It lives in a big pot up my garden. It's a miserable thing but is not dead. It has never borne any sock fruit. I think you need a warmer climate for that.

They can be invasive if you put them in the ground, and do not control them by use of their only natural enemies - goats and alpacas.
