When the Apple Watch gets anywhere near that battery performance I'll be tempted.

Very different devices, though. Apple Watch does very much more, though personally I mostly use mine for notifications, Apple Pay (it's my most-used method of payment) and Siri control of smart home devices.

I have an Apple watch 2, I often don't even take it cycling. If i do the only thing I use it for is reading messages, paying for the coffee stop and the very rare phone call. For cycling, my Garmin 520 computer is far more useful.

For non-cycling activities I use it a lot, but it is not a cycling device in my opinion.

It was rumoured on day 1, but not confirmed until today via chat, although not available to see the details online at all.

Basically, the £5 deal is 10GB of data whilst not tethered to the iPhone. It's also a 30 day add on to your iPhone contract.

The £25 deal is Unlimited data, but with a 24 month contract, on top of your iPhone contract. Obviously includes the cost of the Watch. Therefore equates to £8.38 per month for the data part.

Been using the AW2 for bike, run and swim since last September.

Strava released their update I think in February, so since then you can do Strava on the watch without the phone.

Good for directions as well.

Well I pre-ordered the cellular version with Apple this morning. Been thinking about it all day and I am fairly sure that I am going to cancel my order.

Great looking bit of kit, but I don't think the £549 cost over 2 years is going to return enough value for me. Not cancelling tonight, but will decide over next few days.

It's academic, but I think you must be mistaken. Apple haven't announced any UK pricing for EE contracts at all. There were an awful lot of people on EE forums, slating them for how disorganised they were, considering that they were the sole UK network on day one.

A very very strange product. It has 2G, 3G and LTE, yet the 2G and 3G for the watch will not work on EE.
Plus, you cannot move network!

I'm honestly not. Can't speak for how EE handled it.

I can track a 4-5 hour ride and still get a full day's use from it.

My daughter in law just bought one for £349 I think and Mickey Mouse tells her what the time is. I believe it can be used for cycling with heart monitor included and other things I don't know about yet. Wouldn't buy one myself, far too expensive for a pensioner.
