Everybody thought the iPad was pointless and would fail...
It's a beautiful watch, especially the steel cased version with the silver dial.Never heard of a Hamilton Viewmatic @John the Monkey but it looks quite nice, and only £470.
Yes but the computer industry had been flirting with tablets for years, I remember a tablet a customer had years ago that ran on standard windows and had hand writing recognition that he used for filling in mortgage application forms on customers sites. They would come onto the market place and then disappear and then another one would appear and this went on for years before the ipad came out and the idea finally took off.
yeah so does my Citizen aqualand. but i can take that into the shower without cacking it. oh and it goes to 200m apparently. 60m is the deepest i have taken itWell mine has a Compass, Altimeter, Temperature, Alarm, Chrono and a sort of Barometer all accessible from a touch screen ............ oh yes and it tells the time as well.
But I know what you mean![]()

I regret that I've not reached a point in life where I, personally, could describe it as "only" £470, but that's a reasonable statement in watch terms![]()
An old Area Manager I worked with had the Compaq version running Windows back in the day. They were literally a laptop that you could use a stylus to write on. Hardly comparable to an iPad. The current tablet market was built on the iPad paving the way.
I think I know the Tissot you mean, although I can't call the name to mind - if it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a favourite over on Watchuseek, iirc.That is a nice looking watch, I have another Tissot one that is more of a dress type watch that looks a lot like that just with a black face.
I am a sucker for watches as you might have guessed I have quite a few it becomes an obsession if you aren't careful.

Very nice! The one I was thinking of is the Visodate;

(I've a slight preference for baton hour markings on a dress watch)
thanx.Nice watch, I like citizen watches I got an Eco Drive 2100 off ebay a few months ago it is a bit battered and the alarm doesn't work properly and it weighs about the same as a small car but it is a lovely watch.
