Nice  quite similar to my T Touch in some ways, I just love watches with lots going on with the face of the watch.
when I took it to my favoured citizen dealer the lovely lady looked at it and almost threw her pants in my face! she loved it and the fact that it has little dinges on it from being used as a dive watch not left in a box on a display

I have backed off from buying watches at the moment because I have so many I have never worn and it seems a shame because after all they are meant to be worn and enjoyed but that first scratch or ding always hurts

I'm looking forward to buying one. I'd be surprised if it's as cheap as they say though.

Should save the hassle of pulling out the iphone so often.

Is te HRM an optical sensor in the back if the watch or does it pair with a band?

........(I've a slight preference for baton hour markings on a dress watch)

i still have my Omega Geneve Automatic [with date window] that my parents bought for me in 1962

Sensors on the back. No need for a band at all. Part of the attraction for me.

My Garin Fenix already does notifications.

I turned it off!

Historically speaking that setup isn't as good / accurate as a chest band, so it'll be interesting to see if they've improved things.

It'll really annoy my watch nerd friends , maybe more than my Casio even, so another reason to buy.

It's been done with electrical conductivity, but not as a dual visible light and infrared sensor setup. It's new territory compared to a lot of what's been done before.

I'd guess these will be more accurate for heart rate et al than a standard band that most of us have used before. Optical sensors and the processing power of the watch & combined iPhone will make a huge difference. Bit like the camera on an iPhone beats all others despite being 'only' 8 megapixels. The processing done on that image by the phone makes it that much better that the average photographer has no need for a camera.

I like the look of it, but would suggest the Watch 2 would probably be more sensible.

I still don't have a Garmin. Been meaning to buy one but they're so expensive. The Watch would cost less than a good Garmin. iPhone could live in back pocket. Turn by turn directions vibrating on wrist, map or heart rate or average speed etc on screen when you raise wrist. Could work great as that digital recording / navigating hub that I now like on longer bike rides.
