How long they last is generally based on how often you use them. Mine will last a lifetime.

I would say that stuff is much cheaper to buy and replace than it ever was and tends to be much more reliable than it ever was.

Some stuff is really cheap and unbranded and so common sense kicks in and you don't get it.

When I was a kid, we bought a new car. It lasted 8 years before it was rusted out and went to the scrappie. My car is 8 years old, as is my daughters VW and both are really as good as new.

Back in 1980 a VHS recorder cost £599. Now a recorder/player is half that price now.

I keep my opened red wine in the fridge, it doesn't go off as quick.

My microwave is over 20 years old. I sometimes wonder if it's still safe after all this time.

Brother combi one. Don't think Brother have even made microwaves for years. It just keeps going and the oven setting makes lovely crisp baked potatoes.

Switch it off, unplug it. Place your mobile inside, switched on. Close the microwave door & phone your mobile. It shouldn't ring, if it does your microwave may have dodgy door seals or you might be close to a mast.

Hmmmm, no. Two Miele and the rest a mixture of purebred and mongrel.

Our Miele washing machine has been a faithful servant since 1993 and still going strong.
Plus it's the first machine we've had that's not sounded like a helicopter landing in the kitchen.

Could but that would be dependent on which insurance company your with. Your premiums would rise the first year then should fall back over the next 5 years....I assume?

Had a top of the range Panasonic Microwave door catch broke. Cost nearly as much to repair it than it did to replace it with a similar Panasonic microwave. Told them to stuff it and got a cheapo, Put the broken one on freecycle. Always someone who will have ago at repairing it,
