are poc helmets too much like a mushroom

My much used poc is now nearly three
I think it's a weird looking lid.
I had another mtb poc but sent it back as I looked like a scary biker.
I commute and need something to look good and be of a nice quality.
Anyone spotted a nice helmet that's not too much of a mad max type.

I recommend a Tilly hat. Good for all weather and riding conditions and and dhould it ever wear out they replace it free..

Kask Mojitos are fairly cheap and not very mushroomy.

Tbh you're best off trying helmets for fit in your LBS

I purchased an Abus " Metronaut " helmet a few years ago, never wore it as it was too warm. The corduroy side bits fold down to cover your ears in the winter. I was going to Ebay it, and when taking photo's relaised that the cover came off, revealing a very patriotic looking helmet hiding underneath. It's back in the box now, waiting for a suitable occasion.

Looks quite a large shell to me. I would think that a brand name like Specialised would offer different shell sizes for at least Large, Medium and Small head sizes. Is it called an Airnet because it keeps your 'air in place?

It's actually quite sleek.
Maybe because it 'net's the air'. As for keeping my 'air in place I'm not really qualified to comment

Helmets are really something you have to try on. Heads come in all shapes, even if the size is right. Something to bear in mind is that some helmets come with a mesh in the vents to keep insects out, which is a nice feature, others don't.
