Nope, not one of those! Having googled "grey wolf", I'd say it looked most like one of those, but the colouring was a little different. I am sure it was a wolf.
Utongogan or Tamascan? Or maybe a Northern Inuit ?

Go back and get a picture of it so we can all see this beast then!
Go back and get a picture of it so we can all see this 7 foot tall, predatorial, fire breathing, man eating Devil beast with fangs like dinner forks and a sickening howl that can be heard in 3 counties then!
Yes there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner.
So perhaps the beast in question here is just a bit of a psycho wild animal! I have known dogs like that too. Most dogs are docile, the odd one is a nutter.
I'm sorry but in my opinion your best bet would be an anonymous tip-off to the relevant authorities about a possible dangerous dog. He's never had a dog and then he gets something as domineering as that ?! A tip-off might seem extreme but how will you feel if you don't report it and it kills someones child ? If it turns out to be legit / safe, then fair enough but I'm betting it won't. I've got first hand experience of this type of dog. And you can not be too careful.
Once again we agree. Some breeds of dog and especially wolves have one of the strongest bite pressures of any animal.
Trust me, the dog is stronger.
