Working in the NHS and so it can be very frustrating at times, change for the sake of change, etc, but glad to have a job in this day and age. Keeps me ticking over and earning the money to do the things I enjoy.........................like buying a nice bike to go cycling on!!:bicycle:

Possible 11 hour shifts, without a rest of any sort, even a stop for food on £5 an hour. LOVE IT.

Kill me now, please? I beg you, Kill me!
But its a job, its bringing in disposable income and on the less busy days with shorter shifts its very reasonable - Might even enjoy it sometimes!
And besides, my shiny new rose isn't going to pay for its self

Love my job. It's occasionally stressful, I'm surrounded by idiots and seem to be the only one able to steer through the occasional crises. My worst continuous shift so far is 36 hours straight. But I love it.

Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it, sometimes its just a job and I'm indifferent. Two and a half years ago I got made redundant and this was all I that was available so I took it, with no jobs around and with my age I thought I've just got to take whats on offer.

I'm 50% of a two man company. We started it thirty years ago. We have good years and we have bad years. Most have been absolutely dreadful, salary-wise. Worse than you could possibly contemplate....benefits territory. We have had fun though. I love it, and I would only have myself to blame if I said I hated it.

I still like my job, although I enjoy it less than I did, due to lower staffing levels - it was more fun when there were more of us, and less stressy. Still, it's outdoors, keeps me fit, and we still have a few laughs.

After my flippant comment earlier in this thread here is a more sensible response. I have been a soldier, a nurse (SRN, RMN), a Wireman/Assembler, a Radio and Television Engineer, a carer, and a storekeeper in a silk mills. I enjoyed all my jobs except the last one in the silk mills. It was very feudal and the management were barstewards. I was glad to get out with early retirement.

Love my job but would love to retire now at 52 while I still have my health and sanity. I am fortunate that I have great employer's who headhunted me 5 months ago to part manage their 2nd warehouse with decent hours and overtime with a heated {un-used office} room for my bike and gear. The job is physically demanding and fast paced and dont know what I will be like in another 10yrs time when I am 62. but the job is rewarding with perks and decent money. The problem is I have too many things on the go or would like to do but work gets in the way. I supose I would miss the commute to work and back more come to think about it.....

I like my job (catering at the scottish exhibition and conference centre) even though it is one of the lowest paid jobs I ever had in the trade. The shifts are varied, the events mostly interesting.
At 49, I don't know how long I will be able to the long shifts and the heavy lifting, we will see what other opportunities the future will bring.

My job is in Sales, the product is interesting, my colleagues are amazingly competent, the company has millions in the bank, the customers are enjoyable, I get to travel overseas and fly business class, I'm well paid, I get dividends from my shares, freedom to come and go as I please and I'm a senior member of staff entrusted with fairly big transactions and amounts of cash. Oh, and I get a Passat estate and the pension is better than most.

What is there not to like?

Bored of mine. Pay is OK (less than I used to be on) but it has very good holidays and a decent pension (for now). Don't bother working extra hours etc. Really enjoy helping others out, but line managers in my specialism can be a complete pain.

I'm going to just 'go with the flow' from now on, and not get worked up about the idiots (having a long holiday works wonders). At least it's a relatively secure job, and I'm in a profession that's transferable between businesses.

Given a choice, I'd work in a bike shop, but it won't pay the bills.
