Are the people that said categorically 'yes' fibbing just a bit?

Fibbing to us and/or themselves?

Happily retired;)
It was a good life when I was working but now.............. Greeeeeaaaat.
Any day it's dry I am out on the bike for as long as I want. How often did the good weather come during the working week?
Now I do what I want when I want.
Who wouldn't be happy!

I have a lovely wife, good friends, reasonable job, reasonable income, and work have just given me 6 months' sabbatical to go travelling.

So yep, life is great at the moment.

Bit skint until christmas but that's my own faut for owning/restoring 7 motorbikes, a Capri, Citroen H van and a Skoda.

But I'm working on a couple of new projects with new people in new areas of cycling and I can't wait for January:biggrin:

Yep I'm happy at the mo. Job security, money in the bank, Mrs P as lovely as ever, bikes to go out on when I want to and healthy to boot. Of course, it could all go badly wrong next week.

I just spent a whole weekend with Mr Weenie (we both work six days a week and have busy social lives so it's rare), I fitted into a smaller dress size than I was expecting and although I've got various health bits I could worry about, worrying doesn't solve anything so I've decided not too.

Pretty chipper really.

No necessarily. I am happy at the moment, things are good and anything that isn't how I want it is due to my own fault and I can't be unhappy about that. I am not getting any grief from anyone and I am free to do as I please. Doesn't mean life is all good but it is how I want it right now so I am happy.

Next week when all the bills come in and the payslip doesn't I may say different.

No. Not a bit of it. Doesn't mean I think it's forever, but happiness is to be enjoyed whilst it lasts.

I think also that searching specifically for happiness for yourself is not a good idea. It seems to flow out of trying to do your best for other people and just to do 'the right thing' in the small ways that you can.
