Wore a beard from aged 18 to early 40s when I decided it made me look older and went to being clean shaven.

I grew a beard when I became a parent and lost all sense of self respect. I now only keep me beard for two reasons. First, to hide my double chins, and second if I shave it off my kids would be totally freaked out. My hero Orson Welles always looked better with his beard than without.

In my 20's (long, long before the current fashion for beards was developed) I had a beard for a year or so. Too itchy and hot for me. I reverted to being clean shaven, and remain that way 40 years on.

I have a Beretta Silver Pigeon Sporter. And facial fuzz.

Relatively short at the moment as I trimmed it to look tidy for a funeral, but I'm letting it grow out to a couple of inches again.

Did not shave when travelling months on end in my youth. Used to go to a barbers for a cut throat shave every now and again to remove the wild man in the wilderness look.

Never liked them.
Unhygienic looking , sweaty , smelly , not for me.
Shaved once a day , at least , for the last 40+ years.

Research shows that regularly shaved faces have more of a bacterial ecosystem going on due to the number of tiny lacerations from shaving.
