Attaching Pump to Frame

I broke the frame clamp for my pump a few weeks back and have been carrying it around in my pocket since, which I don't like. I've been to two LBS and searched the web for a replacement but failed. One LBS rather dismissively said "pumps are so cheap these days, just buy a new one," I refrained from pointing out I don't have a cheap pump!

Is it possible to buy some clever little gizmo which I can use to attach a pump to a road bike frame? If not have others found a work around for this problem as I don't want to buy yet another pump - I have three already!!

Velcro strap(s) - that's what I use.

assuming you have a modern, small is pump, most won't fitted traditional pegs. No holes in the ends. Velcro straps work but if you want something that sort of acts like a substitute for your clip that held it to bolts on the frame, find an old bottle cage. Chop it up leaving just the bit that has the bolt holes and the bit in between. this will act as a mount of sorts which you can then add a strap or inner tube band to. Not perfect but much better than just a strap. I use this as cheap plastci bottle cages appear on scrap bikes and I use 1 decent pump on 4 different bikes.

I'd wondered about Velcro straps but thought they might work loose?

mattsccm - thanks I like the idea. I'm not very practical but I reckon even I could manufacture that

Twofish Lockblocks - sold for torch mounts but would work well - you might need a 2 pack - depends on the pump
Having the pump at 90deg to the frame tubes might be a bit inconvenient

I'd suggest a pair of Zefal Doodads - velcro straps with rubber spacing blocks, specially for (Zefal) pumps.

Ooops - wrong link. Try http://www.twofish.biz/bike.html
was thinking of the Bikeblocks - do much the same job as the Zefal ones you've linked to.

edit: the Zefal ones are probably more easily available, useful link.
