Avast anti-virus and CycleChat

Using Apple, seems fine without antivirus.
Have Linux on my intel machine, no anti virus there either,
Windows I use antivirus with, but you won’t keep any secrets
on any modern computer, they all have a chip that runs below the OS,
it has access to everything and can send info back to base.
You need an old pre intel management engine / and and have their version too.

I have stopped using third part AV on all but my own computer at home. All the others are Windows 10, mine is still XP

Latest Windows 10 update reinstalled Defender as primary AV , which meant I could uninstall Avast which had taken over and I can't remember why I installed it in the first place... System running quicker again, another thumbs up for Defender

Avast does seem to be making my old laptop slower and slower! I'm going to switch the laptop over to Linux when support for Win 7 finishes in a few months time. In fact, I may do it before then once I have taken everything I want to keep off it and installed copies of all the software I use onto my new laptop.
