It seems to depend on the terrain, for example.

In the Loire Valley it was so laid back I rarely did more than 40km a day. On crossing the Massif Central it was 100km with 3 consecutive days of c.180km, with Saunders Jetpacker tent. On the raid Pyrenean it was 80km with Hilleberg Nallo GT - the extra tent space was well worth it, my companion's tiny tent was not brilliant in the heavy rain we had for a few days. On other tours I tended to stay put for a while doing day rides round and about.

We do 10mph (loaded) no matter the terrain, it seems. Not sure how that happens but every day, it's 10mph and we generally do about 50 miles. Unloaded, we're only marginally faster (12mph). No speed demons, us.

Nothing wrong with your speeds. Touring, I thought, was meant to be a leisure activity.
