Today I got my first (ever!) puncture. I do know how to fix them though, I've done it several times for friends and family, so I thought it would all be fine.

First off, it was nigh on impossible to get the tyre off the rim. It literally took me around an hour. Like I said, I've changed tyres before, but this was something else.

I decided to put in a new inner tube, and repair the other inner when I had time, as I had a commitment to go to. With the tyre being so tight it again took a long time, a lot of patience and brute force. By the time it was back on I was too late to go to commitment. Fine.

I then noticed that I had made a pinch puncture, despite having the inner slightly and being as careful as possible, obviously the tightness of the tire meant I had to use too much force and it got punctured.

So I had to get the inner out (again a LONG job), repair it and put it back in. It took even longer than last time because I was being super super careful not to cause another pinch flat. Except I did.

I'm too exhausted to have another go (been at it since 4!) and I'm too scared of making another pinch puncture so I am going to leave it until tomorrow. I don't have a car (as I can't afford to) so I am currently without transport except my legs.

I just need a hug

Big hug.

Walk away for a bit. Take a deep breath. Then have another go.

Been there, done that, had the tantrum. Except in my case it was only a leisure ride on a sunny day I missed. Hope it goes better for you in the morning ! (Look on the bright side, you might have stretched the tyre a little by now!)

Aww, sounds rough. Some of those rim/tyre combos can make you weep.
:hugs:
Hopefully you've wrestled and stretched the tyre into being more compliant for the morning.

I read a tip on here to get tight tyres off... Get all three levers in position under the bead around a couple of inches each one to the next and lever them all down at the same time.

You probably tried already bit a bit of talc on the rim helps get the last little bit back on again.

Some combinations of rims and tyres are particularly difficult!

I have had combinations which were so easy that I could get tyres on and off without even using tyre levers, and other b**t*rd combinations that were a pig using 2 or 3 levers.

I feel your pain. You should have heard some of the language that I used, the other week, trying to get Conties off my Vision Team 30 rims. I've got Schwalbe Luganos on there now and they are not a whole lot better IMO. Swapping the Conties for the Luganos took just over 2 hours in total.
Hubster was shocked, even though I pointed out that I'm a forces brat. I was really narked off. Talk helped, Bontrager tyre levers were a Godsend (red ones).
I'm getting new tyres, ones with bloomin' kevlar in as I really don't fancy struggling with the Schwalbes in the rain, on the roadside.
