What cam do you use matt?

That's a crap cock-up anyway,we need one where you almost slaughter someone.;)
Contour HD.

With the current traffic conditions, I doubt that it will be anytime soon that I experience anything worth uploading driver-wise. The roads have been pretty quiet around these parts.

Nope. The no overtaking on zig zags only applies to motorised transportation.

Thanks gaz, reminds me of my vid with the near hit with that car where before hand I had overtaken on zig-zags.I got criticised badly at work by people who don't know the rules.

But the police car surely has a motor at the point it overtakes the moving bus. Or does the centre zigzag make the pass permissable by dividing the carriageway into two lanes meaning that it is not an overtake, not sure.

It's two separate lanes. so not really an issue from that point of view.
Just like it's not an issue that the cyclist passed the bus whilst it was indicating out, because it was in a separate lane.

I can't hear, no matter how hard I've tried, what the police officer is actually saying to the cyclist.

It's impatient driving from him. If this was a normal member of the public, it'd be a non event (car gets a little close, but stops before passing) but as its a police officer, where higher standards are expected its a different scenario. Some of you may even be surprised to know that I'm happy with this set of circumstances too - I have no problem at all with people expecting and receiving higher standards from a police force.

In the real world though, it is a non event. I'd have recommended making a complaint at the police station about it. It's never going to go to the IPCC, or PSD, and just asking for advice to the officer would suffice.

I'd equally get the cyclist to realise the importance of 'lifesaver looks' and indicating in that scenario.

I'm not one to just instantly jump to a cyclist's defence (especially as an coppers son), but that copper was totally wrong.

Cyclist was already out of the nearside lane as he passed a parked silver car and continued in the same to pass a bus that was in another. Wwether the bus was stationary, moving away or jumping up and down on its back wheels is irrelevant. it was in a different lane.

Copper then...for a reason i don't understand (nor does the cyclist I assume) tires to push past the cyclist and make him move directly into the path of a bus that may or may not have seen him yet. I would have ridden just as the cyclist did, and also as he did, I would have made bloody sure the bus driver had clocked me before moving back in and would never expect a driver, let a lone a trained professional to try and attempt an overtake at that point.

Made worse by the fact that the copper felt it worth of a discussion.
