Oh yes... normally the choice (from the can) of divorced middle-aged men sitting in front of a computer watching pornography, dressed in vest and underpants, but they CAN be a delicacy in their own right.

Your thinking of wotsits.

Perhaps ... if you're marooned on an island with nothing but a tin opener and an endless supply of baked beans.

OT, but a friend of mine was once marooned on Marion Island, shooting cats. The store cupboard contained mostly Fray Bentos pies and Brinjal Pickle. He threw away the pie fillings and replaced them with the pickle.

Am I missing something here - is it not possible to eat the jacket potato and baked beans have a glass of something and then eat the salad or are we assuming that all ingredients are mashed up on one plate?

Not only is it not ok, the mere posing of the question is in & of itself an act of barbarism on a par with the sacking of Ancient Rome.

Beans with salad?..hmmmm never tried it myself but perhaps it's something I should. Perhaps with a huge dollop of mayo. What say yee @threebikesmcginty ?

What say I, I say nay verily nay.

I note that @Adrian voted "no". I wonder if he'd be prepared to reconsider if the beans were served alongside, in, say, a ramekin...

Beans in a ramekin, how terribly middle-class.
