New bike ,day off and its not raining .Wonder what I will do :-)

A few pictures from my yesterdays ride around Afan valley Treorchy and Glyn Neath area going over the Bwlch and Rhigos hills.

Quite warm down in the valleys ,especially going uphill but a fresh easterly wind on the hilltops made it cold and kept my speed down on the descents (or maybe Im just a wus).

Very pleased with the Dale. Comfortable quick enough for me and a nice big hill munching cassette.The discs are basic cable operated ones but work well .
Im especially pleased with the pieplate and wheel reflectors :-)

i've done those climbs a few times banjo, i hate the bwlch with a vengeance - horrible, horrible climb

Rode a similar route last May. It rained all day long ..... still had a great time though

Love the climb up the Rhigos from Treorchy direction.

So by the time i get to the bwlch im all climbed out

Great route. Cycled it last week. The road surface from the top of the bwlch down into treorchy is rough. Loads of trucks going over the rhigos too. Great bike by the way.

Not sure I'd fancy commuting over rhigos everyday but that teamed with maerdy and tylorstown climb is a monstrous climbing loop in a relatively short mileage ...now the drag into tylorstown is a pig
