I've used them and I think they are a bargain for work travel, I only occasionally work in London but when I do I get the 24hr access for a £1 and that'll do.

They are heavy yes but they are desgined to last so thats understandable.

Thumbs up from me:thumbsup:

I use them regularly. I hate the tube so if I'm going out with friends after work in the City, I'll cycle from St James's Sq to around Liverpool St instead of jumping on the tube. I also use them to nip up to Oxford Street in my lunch hour. They were a Godsend when I came up for the Jubilee Pageant - no queuing for transport.

I'm in London next weekend with the Mrs and have 2 days to entertain myself, whilst she is on a course. I think I will give a Boris Bike a try whilst looking around the place.

Shame we are staying at Heathrow as I would have loved to avoid the tube altogether!

I've used them many times - sometimes in preference to using my own bike if I want the convenience of being able to dock-and-forget at my destination.

I like them. Their weight, upright riding position and ultra-low gearing encourage you to ride in a much more stately fashion - well, much more stately than my normal riding style, anyway.

I love the Boris Bikes. Yes they are heavy but also ultra cheap to use and unless it is p'ing with rain they are my favourite way to get around in London. You get to see so much more than sitting on the tube and providing there is a docking station near your end point they are the quickest way to get around. The Cycle Hire app also allows you to see what spaces are at your destination before you even get there which can save a lot of faffing about - all in all a nicely thought out scheme/solution. Someone will disagree with my last sentence...

I use them and although they are not a bike I would buy, for their purpose they are absolutely fine and a bargain if bringing your own bike is not an option.
