Please look at this,

On a store carpark this mornng parked nose in and in front of a wall. Miles away in conversation with swmbo, put in D instead of R and pressed accelerator lightly. The car moved a fraction, brakes came on and then engine stopped. Breathed a sigh of releaf then thanked VW for anti collision system.

My reply was,

Driving without due care, not good. Good job it was not reverse what with that young toddler behind you. Sorry but telling me how clever your car is does nothing for me.[/quote]

Was I that wrong to point out that attention should be paid by the driver at all times that they are in control of a car.

Every driver in the world has put their car in the wrong gear at some point - nor did he slam the foot on the accelerator and attempt to speed off.

So probably a bit too judgmental and pompous to be honest.

I can understand your reply regarding the driver and due care and attention and all that BUT like several other people on THIS forum you tend to come across as deliberately antagonistic. The way I read it he was breathing a sigh of relief that the car had not gone forward into the wall because of the anti collision system, you were not there , you did not see what happened, you did not see anyone behind his caravan. Why did you feel the need to give an arrogant reply like that?

I know it is a bit odd how I come across like that in my writing as I try not too, sometimes.^_^

Look at your reply, first you tell the guy he is driving without due care (are you a policeman)..................... then you go on to make a remark about a toddler behind him that he "might" have hit had he gone into reverse.........., then you get sarcastic (thats the way it comes across) about the safety features of his car......................and you expect him not to be peed off at you????

Bloody caravanners!
Ban the lot of them, blocking the roads, dawdling along, getting in the way.
Pensioners are the worst, wearing their stupid socks and sandals!
Blight on the landscape, the lot of them!*
