We had a local company do our old bathroom (and will use them again when we are ready to do our new one). They were really good, helpful and gave advice about what would fit etc. We ended up going for some kind of flooring that clipped together that didn't cause any problems - it seemed like a plastic laminate floor - you could get wood or stone look to it.

As far as I know if you end up leaving taps and drains etc in the same place it is the easiest/cheapest option. We did move a radiator and changed it to a towel rail which I liked.

I quite liked the tiles we chose apart from the detail line that I had put in. It was rougher in texture ... which I thought would be nice and I did like the look, but it seemed to be harder to clean and changed colour slightly.

Job order
Bathroom:
remove hot water cistern;
rip out all old tiles (unless you are tiling over them)
replace sanitary ware;
reposition bath;
replace old wall tiles;
fit water pump to boost shower out-put;
fit laminate flooring.
.

that can be right.????

tiles first, then floor then fit the moveable objects on top - it is a waste of time cutting tiles and flooring to fit around the fixtures

@STASS and CJ - I think the question as been answered by others.
FWTW I laid some laminate flooring that was supposed to be waterproof in a kitchen for a client ( her choice ) after 6 months it looked an absolute mess, never again.

Fair point re fitting round but usually it is done that way as the fitting of the fixtures often involves getting the plumbing in too so part of the tiling is covering the pipes.
often now people tile a whole wall - so do that first, but years ago it was a row of two tiles along everything.

I have a huge kitchen...the top quote for a new fitted job was £15K I got it done for same quality for Just under £6k
