Bb30 crank set

Hi all
This might sound daft but can some one tell me what the difference is on cranks double compact i now what the diffrentce is but what is the bb30? Looking at carbon Fsa k-force light but they say bb30 would this fit a giant rapid 3 with ultegra 6700?

BB30 refers to the bottom bracket. Your frame either has a BB30 bottom bracket shell, or it doesn't and it will be marked quite clearly on the bottom of the BB.

BB30 is a press fit BB - you will probably have a threaded BB.

You can get

a) Square taper BB and cranks or

b) External Bearing based system like Hollowtech

Thanx fella for summing this up good job I didn't just buy it the as my crank is the the square taper bb i think
Will both a and b work in the same bb? What would be best?

Yes - they alf fit the same BB.

Personally I prefer the external bearings although they perhaps don't last as long and you may need to get the BB shell faced to accept the BB cups. Here's a vid

Thanx fella appreciate the help I have the cups on my full sus bike but on my commuting bike its the square taper!
The bb30 is a bit like the press fit for bmx bikes! Thanx again fella.
