He certainly seems to be a good egg. I note that whenever he goes to a restaurant that has one of those an eating challenges where if you finish it you get it for free, he never accepts the refund afterwards because he doesn't want to stiff the place out of the cost of the food. He'll happily take a commemerative t-shirt or whatever if that's the prize however.

I do enjoy his videos. He is good fun and everyone he meets seems to like him. He doesn’t take himself seriously and doesn’t do the OTT American cheerleading stuff which blights other videos.
His trademark ending of ordering dessert is also very clever.
His ability to cram food into his tiny frame is very impressive. But it can’t be a healthy lifestyle. He trains hard in the gym and fasts before events to keep slim.

It is also great advertising for the restaurant. 4 million potential customers for each video.

He seems to be a nice chap, and as said above there is none of the ultra-hype that you get with Americans!
I still can't understand how he fits it all in though; I'm a bit of a porker and would struggle with 1/4 of what he eats. I guess he's trained his stomach to stretch or something, or it might be genetic and he has a naturally larger stomach.

Either way, I do wish he'd shave his beard off! It can't be nice dragging all of that slop through a hedge before it gets to your mouth

He's done a few videos on this. He trains a lot in gym with weights and he calculates his weekly calorie requirements and so on the days he does challenges which might be 10000cal he just ensures over course of a week he doesn't exceed total amount needed for the week hence he doesn't gain excess weight.
As for quantity able to eat that must be partly nature and partly nuture ie training.

And the beard, nah that's his USP!

He eats different items in a set order, so he knows what to eat first and what can wait until the end, ie chips and bread.

He also eats very quickly in the first 10 minutes, as he can overcome his “full” feeling if he eats quick.

any challenge that takes longer than 30 minutes is always harder for him as his body is resisting at that point.

He has usually eaten more than half the plate in the first 10 minutes. And he takes enormous bites.

Yes I've seen lots of his challenges, but I've eaten a large curry before and physically couldn't stand up straight, it felt like my stomach would split open. I guess he must tolerate it very well else he wouldn't do it. Hats off to him really
