Had a good one a few years ago. It was a literally freezing night, and I pumped up the tyres to max pressure using a garage airline on the way round to my mates. Got to his flat and brought the bike inside, leaving it in the kitchen. The weather was so cold that he had the oven turned on with the door open, making the kitchen nice and warm.
Anyway, we're sat there enjoying a couple of beers when the most almighty explosion went off in the kitchen. It was bloody terrifying, we both thought it was the gas or something. Turns out I'd forgotten about the relationship between gas pressure and temperature! I think the tyre survived ok, but the tube was shredded. It must have forced the tyre off the rim.
