That sounds like a marvellous philosophy to me, but why does this always have to leave to the eco-evangelising and doom mongering?

Well, if more people did it, there wouldn't be so much of the constant keeping up with the Joneses that leads to debt and waste and over consumption. Even if the planet can support us, is it really better to throw so much perfectly good stuff away, and live so wastefully? That's all. If you want to stick to your life, I'm not stopping you, and since you don't believe in it, why does doom-mongering bother you at all?

If I go round someone's house for a meal and there's no meat in it I have to get a burger or a kebab on the way home to sate my need for the stuff!
