A cask Phoenix from Lakedown. It's a rather mellow green hop ale.
Heck, it's er sweet! Maybe too sweet, but it is toffee flavoured so.....😉 I couldn't do more than a couple of halves of it as it's a bit yucky!🤢 Also being 11% VOL one pint would be enough for most folk. Imagine drinking Barley Wine and having more than one or two and that's how I think it'd be after 2 halves. Not really for me as I'm more a pale ale fan, though I do like McEwans Champion, which I thought was strong till I tasted this one! It was worth the £5.50 to try it out and now that I know how it is, I won't be rushing to buy another one!😉

Back up in Cockermouth for work so it would be rude not to visit the brewery.

Fantastic! How's it going there? Have they got the full original range back? And it's new equipment, isn't it? Still good?
I'm insanely jealous now...
Today I went to Tesco for the 11% stout that Accy had last week (I found it) and picked these two up as well.
The Brewdog is really easy to drink, proper lovely, but it takes second place to the Vault City, it's like a liquid Crunchie with an alcoholic kick.

This is exactly as you'd expect, it's like a cross between the typical Stone bitterness and a Jaipur (which I had last night for £2.39 a pint in a dodgy 'spoon's in Leicester), lovely, and even better when it's 4 for 3 in Asda.

I'm not a big Asda shopper but I might make an exception for that.
