First time on the heavy sweet stouts @Accy cyclist?
Some of hem are incredible, but you pretty much have to think of them as a dessert rather than a drink.
Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout was my introduction, and it's incredible (though no longer made). Matured in a maple syrup barrel. I once has a glass with a raspberry sour alongside, like it was a chocolate cake with some fresh berries for acidity

I'm insanely jealous now...
I only ever used to drink Snecklifter around 25 years ago and that still tastes as good as I remember when I had some back in August.
When I went on Monday I'd been to The Bitter End first for my tea so I got to the brewery around quarter past eight and there was only two other people in there, last time it was around 3/4 full on a Thursday night, I had a pint of bitter which was quite bland, but never having had it before I don't know how it compares to the past.
They had pumps with Cumberland, Cocker Hoop, Snecklifter, and Castle Bitter, plus a few other breweries on keg, some kind of session IPA and a cider.
They're also selling 500ml bottles to take out for £2.50, a bargain which meant some Snecklifter came home with me.

Chummy Bluster, a Gun Brewery bitter. One of those craft reinventions of a traditional best. It's pretty good but priced like a craft speciality. £6.10!

Vault City are very good at getting the flavours exactly right (like them or not!). Their Iron Brew Sour really is just like Irn Bru

I'm not a big Asda shopper but I might make an exception for that.
If you do go there you might be lucky enough to find the Harbour double, and the Northern Monk pint.
A few weeks ago I finally took the plunge and got a Pinter.
My first brew was a 7% west coast IPA which was ready a week ago, when it first came out it had a very slight yeasty home brew tang, but a week later it's settled down nicely, the only downside to it is that you can only make ten pints at a time.
Apologies for the poo picture but I'd got stuck in before I thought to take one.

A marvellous beer, my intro to Belgian beer almost 40 years ago. And the Westmalle Tripel is possibly the finest beer on the planet imo (though very dangerous at 9.5%)
Was that bottle or draught, btw? The bottled is far better - and can be laid down a few years for the yeast to further condition it 🙂
