So "Equity for Punks" turned out to be a scam. Well I never!

Yes, Brewdog have looked very dodgy for quite some time. I've avoided their beer since news started coming out about their staff relations. Shame, because they have brewed some pretty decent beers.

Their reputation went downhill as fast as their beers tbh. A lot of "missteps" along the way pointed to the whole punk thing being nothing more than marketing. The pink beer for women ("it was ironic"), using England women's footballers names in a shameless self-promotion when the Lionesses won the Euros, banging on about the Qatar world cup while signing an export deal to them, partnering with the biggest breweries on the planet....

A disappointing night tonight, I'm up in Cockermouth for one of my regular work visits, and as usual I go to The Bitter End for my tea.

When I order a pint of Punk I'm told they don't do it any more and have replaced it with Hawkstone IPA. I know I shouldn't have but I had one anyway, it must be the most generic and bland drink I've tasted in a long time, well and truly trading on the Clarkson name.

Then to make matters worse I go round the corner to the Jennings brewery for a pint of Snecklifter, but as I get there they're closing, one of the bar staff tells me that they now close at eight from Monday to Wednesday, I'll be back in three months time then.

their beers are still better than Madri, and that really is generic and bland

fwiw I quite liked the Hawkstone premium lager they do when I tried it, but Ive not tried many of the other styles theyve done yet, though the IPA sounds weird , a citrus hoppy lager style beer, maybe Ill pick one up from waitrose to try.
