Maybe.... But there's no 'we' here. It's not really our house. Cyclists are not a tribe or a completely homogenous group, any more than drivers, pianists or geologists are. Well, maybe geologists.....
As a driver I feel no need to 'put in order' the yobbo element who wheelspin in car parks or the habitual drink driver, nor does their behaviour make me feel embarrassed to be a driver.
Similarly, as a cyclist I do not feel diminished in the eyes of society or the law by what is shown on that clip.
They are silly people and some of them will be hurt or killed. I am silly, but in a different way.
Best words by far.
Ive been toying with raising a post re how cyclists are seen by other road using groups and how we (cyclists) get upset about it.
The fact is, i drive home most nights and see several cars with defective lights (the same ones, day after day), drivers with foglights on in clear daylight, drivers acting like pratts, drivers taking liberties and chances.....just the same as cyclists, but different misdemenours (for want of a better word)
How we are seen appears to upset some cyclists, but why ? we are just another section of road users, i don't have to apologise or get peed off because another bunch of cyclists are stupid (although i admit i have got bothered by it in the past, but ive thopught better of it in the long run)...and just as Boris says, i may get irked by a driver who does something stupid, i may even give a toot on the horn...but thats it. I dont feel the need to sound off about it (no offence Steveindenmark)...just shrug my shoulders and move on.
Morally you're right....but i don't waste my time spoiling my day thinking about prats...ive been a prat myself, but as boris says, mostly in a different way...mostly

In essence, unless you're a saint and never ever do anything wrong, you shouldnt cast stones, so's to speak. 99% of us are prats in one way or another, sadly 99% of us will never admit it.
