This thread is about bell recommemdations. If you want to ride at walking pace then you are welcome but please don't lecture on what people should be doing. Can you recommend a bell for the op?

I think the recommended max for cycle paths was 17kph, not miles. Probably translated from those miles from the days of the empire, in which case 16 would be closer to the reasonable 10mph.
and my recommendation for a shared path is that a bell should not be necessary - is it really a "Lecture" to have a viewpoint that does not fit?
I should start a thread, can you recommend me an air horn for my truck so as I can warn cyclists they need to get out of my way ? I would hope the answer would be that is not what horns are for and that is not how you are supposed to drive a truck.
my view point is I would like to buy a bell for my bike and would like to hear some recommendations of what to buy. I also requested that this thread did not turn into a discussion about the merits of using a bell or not as there are plenty of other threads discussing that

Yes. No one asked for the views on wether a bell is right for a shared use path. See first post in this thread. It asked for recommendations for a bell and not a debate as to their use.

Anything with a good "ding" is good enough. I have bought one last week for my Cube bike for £5 from my LBS and it does the job. Also it is small enough not to be obtrusive.

A proper brass bell which works even when wet, and gives a nice chime. Not the cheapest, but they are good!
A Crane brass bell, as seen on my MTB (I also have one on my Tricross).......
Excellent answer. I have one of these too, they have a really nice sonourous, but surprisingly penetrating tone. I bought mine direct from the distributor (Fine ADC), but I think Edinburgh Bike Co Op now stock them as well.

That is nice. Anything like that or something that goes parp and makes you think of clowns. Nothing electronic or really loud. I've made a study of this being as I walk a section of shared use path every day. Mind you, anything is better than nothing and it's surprising how many nothings go past.
