I wouldn't go cutting anything off as you could end up making it worse. It doesn't look too bad in the photos and as has been said you could probably manage by fiddling with the lever to find the quietest position whilst riding. The chain looks a bit slack.

I've done a roadside repair to a friend's bike. You don't need don't even a large adjustable—I used a 6" one. Not much effort is required.

There's no need to go cutting or grinding anything yet, that's a fall back if everything else fails. The hanger should re-align easy-peasy with the right tool and it's a 5 minute job if you remove the rear mech for them (it'll take about an hour of 'workshop time' to remove the mech, straighten the hanger and refit/re-index the drivetrain)
