Sounds like rose should arrange for it to be collected and sorted. I'd be talking to CAB and my credit card company if they weren't prepared to sort it, after all it's under warranty surely

I tried to request a refund Vickster and Finlay just fobbed me off with I have to allow they to make the repair which is fine, they needed to send me a bike box and organise collection was all, he then came back with the attitude of you need to help us help you so I told him I would help myself and get it repaired myself and avoid Rose in future.

Fair enough, I would probably have insisted they organise the collection. Finlay must have a car, could come himself!

haha I wish, knowing I do not drive I waited 48 hours for him to find a "partner" he can work with, he offered Grimsby, Ripon and Skipton. I live in one of the largest cities in the UK and not one within 26 miles Rose trusts to check a bike. Anyway I'll get it repaired, washed and lubed and stick it on eBay and use Cyclescheme to buy a more harder bike for commuting on.

One of my local bike shops for local people has a 2015 Wilier GTS Disc for £1850. I'm tempted, I must admit.

I wouldn't compare MTB braking with road bikes. When hitting the trail MTB can go from full short burst of full breaking all the time, so the brakes take a beasting. My mate who only rides road bikes took my MTb out for a quick run with me and nearly went over the handle bars a few times!

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm coming from an MTB background and have always had hydraulic discs. I tried a couple of road bikes at the weekend with both traditional brakes and mechanical disc and found them somewhat lacking. All the bike shops I visited recommended discs at the very least as they believe all road bikes will have them standard within 2/3 years.

I'm not going to be racing or anything, just planning on going out with friends and chewing up some miles for fun and fitness!
