Best cheap clinchers?

After some new tires for my old school rim brake bike. Will be used for general riding and training, mudguards limit the size to 700x25c. Any thoughts on what is 'best' ie reasonably puncture proof, reasonably grippy etc. No more that £20 a tyre. Conti Ultrasports? Michelin Lithion? Others I'm not thinking of - maybe something from Schwalbe?

Don't know if you can pick up Vittoria Rubino Pros anywhere for that price, but I highly recommend them.

Schwalbe Duranos appear to be in your price range from some outlets at least. I have no experience of them. I can recommend Durano Plus (which aren't in your range) So that's a start, maybe

I was always curious about Conti Ultrasports, but as a tyre hoarder, I never got around to buying any.

I'm curious about the 35mm and 40mm GP5000s and Pirelli P Zeros for my Bolt, but I'm trying to be good and use some of my existing hoard!

I had never heard of those. They sound great, despite being only about 1/3 of the price that I paid for my GP5000s. I might try them next time.

the czar are the more training/ comuting tyre and they list them as comparable to luganos, ultra sports , gp4000 zaffiros and the cito are supposed to be a better tyre with a higher tpi but the same puncture belt .
whether the claims are true i cant say but at £16 a tyre you cant go wrong.

I got some 25mm Zaffiro Pros for about £13 a tyre recently on eBay.
Rubino folding pros were north of £20

Came here to say this. I'm running Vittoria Zaffiro Pros (make sure you get the Pro version with the folding bead though) in 25c, also got Rubino Pros in the same size on a different set of wheels. Both are good, but when price is a factor the Zaffiros tend to come out ahead.
