Yeah had a good look at the Planet X offerings, the xla? Looks decent as did The full monty (shame about colour) the green London road is decent but I think I comes with slicks for that price. Not sure. My girlfriend has a specialised diverge that I might have to steal and chuck cross tyres on
Well you could just ask PX to put different tyres on!

I use my Diverge on a 50 mile mainly off road route with 33mm knobbly tyres. It handles it really well, only when it becomes fairly rough or loose do you have to slow down or have to work harder on the bike. The road sections just fly by.

It has 105, hydraulic disc brakes and handles fine off road. On road I ride it in the winter with thinner tyres.

The OP has 1k. Would add more cost for wheels, tyres, cassette
and tubes and discs . That was a general comment, not aimed at the OP.

......unless they want to look at used bikes then they can have that for well under £1k.

Sonder Al Camino came with bb5 mechs , not great .
The only thing that bugged me was the bars gave a lot of buzz and set my forearms on fire .
Spec bhar fhat as cured this .
Have a brooks bb7 saddle to put on but not got round to it as the stock saddle it came with is so comfortable .
Really pleased with the tyres .
At £749 I think it is money well spent .
Really going to put it to work at Gritfest in a few weeks and see how it and me holds up .

So I suppose if I'm giving you all the info, my company does c2w but only in time windows. So I have from 21st may until 5th July. It tied to Halfords so cycle republic and cycle surgery can be used (used to be evans ), basically I'm moving house to the sticks outside Reading and I'd rather not buy a second car. Strava clocks the route to work at 16k but mostly very roughy track. My BMC wouldn't enjoy it and neither would my body.
