Not so amazing if you live down here. They seem to bite me more than the locals.
I agree, from personal experience malaria is no protection against being bitten.

Years ago (mid 80's) I bought some stuff in Turkey that was like calamine lotion but didn't go powdery and rub off. I used for many years as it didn't have a use by date, or it might have but in turkish. It eventually dried up.
I tried looking for it when we got Internet but couldn't find it.

I've got a friend who's vegan. His daughter though only a vegetarian. On holiday she refused to go into his room as he refused to even plug in mozzy deterent. He refused to go to hers as she did and sprayed fly killer.

Well I'm still here, but relocated to there. Project paused on account of the weather.
Anyway, calomine is one of those things that works because we believe they work.
Antihistamine creams don't touch these bites. Taken quite a lot of antihistamine pills over the last week. That usually works, but not with this lot.
Getting used to a particular local mosquito still leaves you with the climatisation process. What I've got right now. Also I've moved on from that job.
This is day 4 and still very ugly and uncomfortable.
