Velodrome shop is worth a visit,

What are you running on the front? 48x18 here which I've been running for years, occasionally spin out on the flat with a good tail wind, but mostly It seems like a good compromise (only had to get off once to get up a hill)

Still easy to try, and maybe enough in horizontal dropouts to let you use the same chain, have you got a flip flop hub?
I'm running the original 42 t front cog and yes it has a flip flop hub.Cheers for your help

65 inch gear, 44x18, for me its a good compromise between speed and climbing, on level ground I tend to spin out somewhere between 20 and 25 mph depending on weather and how I feel.
