I know this is a basic question but can someone recommend a fluid, tools and procedure for cleaning/lubricating a bike before putting it back in the shed for a week.

Used to just use a large terry towel on my old bike and took care to clean and lube the chain.

Anyway I really want to keep my 'dale looking as good as new as it needs to last a while.

Thanks all.

A lot of fellow parishioners hereabouts swear by Baby Wipes. They are cheap as chips, have some very mild solvent on them ( I think ), but most importantly, they are thin enough to get into tight spots like gear mechs and cassettes.

I used Mr Sheen for the 1st time this weekend and my bike is still nice and shiny despite the weather  Seems to stop a lot of the muck sticking.
