I don't argue with your reasoning, but the fact remains that (in my experience) the BBC / Met Office forecasts are far less reliable than yr.no

You do know the difference between data and interpretation ?

The beeb gets it's interpretation from the Met. Office The data from the Met. Office that the Norwegians get is the same it's just that the interpretation is a lot better than the Met. Office does.

Generally, weatherquest (podcasts for Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs I think), yr.no and openweathermap.org then if they disagree much: timeanddate.com, BBC and met office.

Short range maps on http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/ can be useful for the right now and easier to use than BBC or Met Office maps.

But if I want to see what the weather is like right now, I just look outside. I suppose it's useful if you're on London Underground and hooked up to their WiFi.

Maybe the fen winds move the clouds here faster than London but if I'm off out for a few hours, I can't see far enough away to see what's coming, even with the fen wide skies...

I saw an interesting cloud shape in the sky and photographed it, and then was surprised to see that evening the local tv station had published photographs from around the area including the weird cloud. What surprised me was that the published photo was taken some 40 miles south of me, and it still looked to be to the south of the photographer by a reasonable distance.

I was near Ely looking at some quite tall looking shower clouds to the north east while on a ride a couple of days ago. When I got home and checked the rain radar it turned out those clouds were just off the Norfolk coast near Great Yarmouth- maybe 70 miles away!
