Update!

So several months later...

I paid a visit to Dooleys Cycles in Paisley and it was a revelation. Fantastic bike shop. Talked with Ian Dooley about what I would like and he could not have been more helpful.

End result is that I have ordered a Bianchi Oltre XR3 Disc, with Ultegra Di2.

I've made a few other minor modifications to the standard spec, including changing the cassette to be an 11-32. I'm not as young as I once was and the hills are definitely getting steeper!

Bike should arrive early February. Looking forward to it!

You're going to like the 11/32 cassette. I just got a Bianchi Intenso at Xmas with that fitted. I haven't done the big climb in my area yet, but it certainly has made other climbs a lot more comfortable.

Will your Oltre come.in Celeste? My Intenso is and I just love it. It's that unrestrained fluorescent greeny blue that really catches the eye. I went out on a ride with a friend, who had a bright red, top level Trek Emonda, but it was the Bianchi that made people strike up conversations. I'd love an Oltre some day.
