Not a chance. It would have been a fender-bender and police wouldn't even have attended.

Surely having half a brain is the perfect qualification for reading the Daily Mail?

Time for this to get another airing, I think:

According to the original posters daily mail page the police did attend and are considering prosecution for dangerous driving I hope that they do decide to but they probably will fail to leaving the victim in the lurch whereas if they do prosecute at least he can proceed with a compensation claim that stands a chance

All published news is always contrived for the publishers own campaigns. I don't watch the news, not out of ignorance of lack of interest I just got tired of learning things I couldn't unlearn or do anything about.

What, where, how you acquire public information makes no foul, they'll wrap around chips tomorrow regardless.

I have yet to meet a sane architect... ^_^
you can be insane and smart at the same time.

(though ask my late engineer-father if most architects are smart  )

I hope they charge her with dangerous driving, she would be charged if she'd done it in front of another car and probably in hospital as well. Poor lad, mind I bet he gets kudos from his mates lets just hope he gets a lot of compensation as well.
Careless driving at the most, a dangerous driving charge would not even get past the magistrates court. The definition of "Dangerous" where driving is concerned is where somebody carries out a manoeuvre which is in itself dangerous, ie running a red light, crossing a solid white line or overtaking on the approach to a crossing. An error of judgement when carrying out an otherwise legal manoeuvre wouldn't cut it.

I was quoting from the Mail article in the OP.
