I think it's more the thought of it. Unless you are really strapped for cash it seems a bit odd. However if you have no concerns and get a mega bargain carry on.
Part of why I love cycling is its low impact on the world compared to other modes of transport. I want to have as little impact on the planet as possible, within reason. Most of my cycle clothing is new but I've bought used bits, including bib-tights, in the past.

I'm more concerned about habitat loss, climate change, rising CO2 levels and the like than I am some nebulous and unproven intuition that somehow fabric that has been through a wash cycle is still dirty.

People (presumably) don't have sex while wearing cycle shorts, but they certainly have sex in bed linen. No-one seems squirmish about sleeping in "used" bed linen. It doesn't make much sense to me.

I refer you again to my earlier response :

La Passione went out of business Dan.

The people behind the brand have started a new brand called Noove but they seem to be a fair bit more expensive.

Thanks for that info, totally missed that. They were providing Movistar if I recall correctly for a couple of years as well.
That's a shame, as at one point they did some quite nice and reasonably priced kit. Wonder when they went under exactly.

EDIT: Seems to be the end of 2024.
