I think it's more the thought of it. Unless you are really strapped for cash it seems a bit odd. However if you have no concerns and get a mega bargain carry on.
Part of why I love cycling is its low impact on the world compared to other modes of transport. I want to have as little impact on the planet as possible, within reason. Most of my cycle clothing is new but I've bought used bits, including bib-tights, in the past.

I'm more concerned about habitat loss, climate change, rising CO2 levels and the like than I am some nebulous and unproven intuition that somehow fabric that has been through a wash cycle is still dirty.

People (presumably) don't have sex while wearing cycle shorts, but they certainly have sex in bed linen. No-one seems squirmish about sleeping in "used" bed linen. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Sleeping in used bed linen might be a thing for some people.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I refer you again to my earlier response :

La Passione went out of business Dan.

The people behind the brand have started a new brand called Noove but they seem to be a fair bit more expensive.

Thanks for that info, totally missed that. They were providing Movistar if I recall correctly for a couple of years as well.
That's a shame, as at one point they did some quite nice and reasonably priced kit. Wonder when they went under exactly.

EDIT: Seems to be the end of 2024.

A few of the smaller clothing brands have gone under. I guess it is just a shrinking market and people holding on to clothing longer due to the general expense of everyday life these days. My guess is that during the post covid boom, a lot of them overstocked and were then stuck with no cash flow and things spiralled from there.

It’s a rare day when you can’t find a discount on the bigger clothing brands. I must get an offer from Le Col at least once a month offering discount. John Lewis and my local bike shop usually have offers on Rapha and there’s always Sports pursuit. This makes it difficult for the smaller brands to operate.

<snip...>

My other favoured brand is Lusso. I'm a huge Lusso fan and the company is always my first call for kit. I have a pair of these

Perform Carbon

They're very, very good but the pad isn't quite right for me. Lusso pads get 9/10 but Assos 10/10. I've recently sent my Lusso bibs back, they will fit an alternative pad for me. That's the joy of using a quality, small business. You get what you pay for.
Been wearing mostly Lusso on 200k-1500k rides for 15 years. Consistenetly cheaper than the main prestige brands, and British!!! :P

The Perform Carbon seems to have broken their trend for quite thick pads - I personally don't notice the difference once I'm sat down, but a lot of folks complain about "nappy-like" pads, As if anyone cares what your bum-wear looks like

I managed to get a pair of their Sport Bib Shorts usually £145 for £65.00. Bargain.

Le Col is one brand I have never tried I must admit - there aren't many!
I did try assos once upon a time, no issues with their jerseys, but the shorts (I forget which model it was) felt like having a mahoosive nappy on, it was very odd, and I decided without getting on a bike that it wasn't going to be comfortable, so sent them back.

I always used to wear Assos till they came out with pad only attached at the front and back. I found it puckered up. So I got Rapha ones, well they were a present. They are ok but not as good as the original Assos ones. I have some Le Col ones that I got in a sale but the jury’s out on them.

I have been using castelli and carnac ones for the last couple of years. Comfort is on a par although the Castelli stitching started to go fairly early on. The Carnac ones still look new. A mega important thing is to get the right size. Castelli come up a bit small, so I wear those in an L the Carnac fit in an M.

Ive ordered le col bib shorts, arrived but to small, so sent back today, for an exchange.

Also seen adverts for RedWhite Apparel & Keada sports any good ?

RedWhite have a very good reputation, though haven't tried them personally.
