Bicycle geometry question

Interestingly, we're not even actually discussing 'geometry' as it pertains to bicycle frame design. Head and seat angles, wheelbase, bb drop, front centre, rear centre, trail and seat/head tube lengths are all 'geometry'.

Where the seat stays join the seat tube, where the top and down tubes intersect are all largely irrelevant.

Rocky Mountain famously pioneered the now universal sloping top tube design on their mountain bikes. The relationship of the seat stays to the seat tube wasn't changed.

When the two fellas left RM to set up Kona Bicycles they retained the characteristic sloping top tube but dropped the stays - which allowed them to claim that it was their own design.
