Beware that thieves will find it nearly as easy to break into your garage as a shed if they want your bike, but this varies from garage to garage.
I’m afraid I disagree with the suggestion that thieves can break into a garage as easily as a shed. However:
• Most manually-opened garage doors are up-and-over with 2-point locking. These are relatively insecure, but many can be upgraded to 4-point locking. The latter is considerably more thief-resistant, and, in my experience, it’s fit-and-forget.
• Alternatively, you can add garage-door-specific locks if you don’t mind the hassle of using multiple locks when using the door.
