bike caked in s**t

Was just talking about this to my fellow commuting cyclist at work this morning. Both our bikes are caked in gunk. I had to stop during this evenings commute to add a little more lube to the chain as it was making a right old squeaky racket.

starting to go rust :| only just cleaned the bugger on sunday. just about to pop out and give it a degrease and added lube.

Don't degrease, wipe with rag and re-lube.

If gritty just rinse with hose, then lube, then wipe..

Mine is totally caked as well, I could hear some squeaking on the way home and couldn't work out whether it was the chain or a pedal.

Can of GT spray is by the front door so I don't forget in the morning.
If I wasn't my daughters unpaid chauffeur at the weekend I would probably find enough time to wash it.

Bike Noises piss me off, my OCD tendencies now mean that until I get the chance to clean it on Saturday afternoon I'm worrying about the onset of rust
