Whilst I would like to see drivers through in rose-tinted glasses, I don't think they have the brains to work out that a lot of cyclists riding in town etc = less cars on the road. All they see is a cyclist in the way of them on their 'most important' journey.

Yes, and sat thinking 15000 x £120 = £1800000 of unpaid road tax :laugh:

it's probably the main route from Hackney to the City, apart from Kingsland Road. You're right though, Hackney Road would probably have a higher count cos it would include those coming from The east.
I commute from Walthamstow through Hackney, and depending on my mood and on traffic I'll go through (or around) Vicky Park, or through Broadway Market, or down Queensbridge Rd, or across the A10 and down through De Beauvoir Rd. I see lots of cyclists on all of those - goldsmith's row might well be "probably the main" route, but that in no way implies it has anything approaching a majority of the cyclists
