There are quite a few companies that specialise in bike insurance nowadays.

How many of you are signed up to one of these policies? Would you recommend it or not?

Yes, included in house insurance.

I have a stand alone bike policy and would recommend it if you cannot get equivalent cover under your home insurance and/or you cannot afford to replace your bike/s should the worst happen.
