Bike insurance

Hi all, just after a bit of advice with bike insurance.
I've always commuted with an old bike that would cost more to insure than replace, but now I'm having to go onto London daily, so picked up a Brompton and want to get it insured but most polices I've looked at only show bike theft of an unattended bike, and with all the reports of Brompton riders being attacked for their bikes (rare I know) I just want to make sure I'm covered should the worse happen. So any recommendations or advice would be appreciated

Phone your home insurers and ask what they cover.
My away from home contents insurance would cover a robbery like you describe

Theft of a pedal cycle (including an Ebike) unless:
– in your immediate custody and control; or
– securely locked to an object that cannot be moved (this includes a
parked vehicle); or
– in a locked building.

It would not cover being scammed or tricked into handing over

Or try one of the dedicated insurers like Bikmo
