Stop complaining about them the ones who do, look at that skill, and relax, they are good to watch.
No im not a fakenger

I'm pretty sure I can make my own mind up there Joe, but thanks for your advice.

I like some of the comments on youtube from the 'it's cool' camp. A lot of them saying detractors like me just don't understand, these people have real skills and none of the pedestrians or other road users were in any danger. Skills, yes, no danger, arrant nonsense.

Undertaking/overtaking, pavement hopping, running red lights, riding on wrong side of road, weaving through pedestrians at crossings, going wrong way on one way street.

You're entitled to consider that cool behaviour, just like I'm entitled to consider 'laying one of them out' would be cool behaviour.

it's not, that's the point, neither would be cool, think about it

No, them riding like that can be seen as cool.
You smacking one of them because you dont like how they are riding is uncool. It would be like someone in a car driving along, not liking how you are riding and smacking you.

and that's where we differ

Why dont you comment on my second point?
"You smacking one of them because you dont like how they are riding is uncool. It would be like someone in a car driving along, not liking how you are riding and smacking you."
So, going by you just wanting to smack them because you dont like how they are riding, does this mean anyone in a car could do the same to you because they dont like how you are riding?
And if there was a post on here about a cyclist being clotheslined or punched by a car driver because the car driver didnt like how the cyclist was riding, would you be on the car drivers side or not?

I've seen most of them vids before but I still whince at some of their moves. There's some respect for pulling the moves off but you'd have to be mad to try them in the 1st place. If you totally ignore the stupidity/ dangerousness of the moves the handling is pretty cool

For one, these cyclists are definately breaking the laws, are fully aware of it and causing alot of danger to others.

Joe, I'd already addressed that by stating that I would consider neither action to be cool. The reference to giving one of them a slap, as being cool, was merely to highlight what's cool for one may not be cool for another. Or, put another way, if you posted a video of people cycling like that ending in a pedestrian decking one of them, that would probably gain more popular support than this video does.

I'm on the side of using the road properly and I would apply a sliding scale based on vulnerability of the road user concerned. Therefore I would class reckless behaviour by a bus, or lorry, driver as worse than that by a cyclist or pedestrian. Any cycling errors I make may irritate a driver but they won't be putting them in danger.

These folks are putting others at risk for their own amusement, regardless of how skillful they believe they are. Apparently lots of young joy riders, and boy racers, believe they're supremely skillful as well.

The bottom line is that no problem exists if they don't choose to disregard the law, and safety of others, in this manner. It's just selfish, they get their buzz and really couldn't care about the consequences.

Couldn't agree more. I don't care if they kill themselves, but I do care if they ride in a manner which could injury an innocent bystander (especially if the bystander was my child, which maybe why I feel so strongly about it). There’s no place for it on public roads. It's just a shame you can't give cyclists a ban IMO.

Punching them off isn't. I do enjoy these videos and the new york ones. It's stupid, stupid behaviour but I do have some respect for the ...bravery ....stupidity?

maybe it's a generational thing, I find 'jackass' stuff totally unfunny but at least they tend to be endangering themselves and not others.

Got to appreciate the skill and observation of some of the riders, even if they endanger pedestrians and themselves throughout most of the vid. Hi adrenaline indeed, nutty b*****ds. Winced several times when unsuspecting pedestrians were almost mown down though. Hardly good ambassadors for 2 wheels.
