Bike Parking Etiquette

Surely the problem is not that someone is in 'your' space (bit dubious that one, unless you hold some kind of title deed) but that the landowner has failed to provide suitable bike parking facilities.

In the big scheme of things, those sort of things are only a drop in the ocean, cost-wise and can be set up for only a few hundred quid.

Mind you, I do understand. There is a guy on my usual train who now occupies the space where I used to put my folder.

Also, in our locker room there is one hook which is definately mine. When the room was built, there were some screw holes that had been drilled but never used. I sourced a suitable screw et voila - one hook. Now that I can lay claim to!!!!!

I don't understand why you can't lock your bike up even if someone has left their lock behind?

I got annoyed last night that someone had tied their dogs up to the cycle stand outside the supermarket. But when I moaned to my husband about it he pointed out it is a dog tie up place not a bike stand! Ooops. Just as well I didn't lock my lock through the leads which I did consider until I thought they might bite me.

The bike racks at my place are now vastly more populated than in previous months. Even more so than I remember from last summer (when I started commuting via bicycle). There are lots of rack here - approx 60 + and I'm just glad I arrive at the office early (just before 7am). Can be a right pain if I ever have a late start!

Think I can top that!

We made it a condition of moving to our office park (we are one of a few companies) that they installed a bike rack/shed. Just for little old me. For the first few months (September thro March) I was only one using it.

I don't think I need go any further.........

Seriously though, I arrive at work at 06:20. There is one guy who works earlies...

You get to work at 06:20 and you aren't even the one on the early shift - yikes!
