Bike Rack Advice

My MTB with plus tyres does not fit well on my Thule Towbar Rack. I have got in on now and it's safe. However, to stop it moving as much as possible I have strapped the brake levels so the brakes are on. Is there any problem with that?

I can't see any particular problem with it but if I was sufficiently worried to do this I'd be have a serious look at other options.
